Navtech Radar is dedicated to producing affordable, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) radar solutions for industrial applications.  The company is focused on producing solutions for four main market areas:-

Automatic Surveillance Automatic Surveillance, Radar Controlled CCTV

Autonomous Vehicle Navigation Autonomous Vehicle Navigation and Obstacle Detection

Navtech Radar Highways Monitoring Carriageway and Hard Shoulder Monitoring

SMR Control Systems Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control Systems

All Navtech Radar sensors operate at 76 to 77GHz which is the deregulated European automotive band.

The combination of low power emission, high range resolution, 800m radius range, and sophisticated tracking software is unique and would be hard to replicate at equivalent unit cost.

The sensors’ high frequency, very low power emmission and unique wave characteristics mean that it is safe, non-interfering with other electronic equipment and difficult to jam.

The company has over 8 years of product heritage and a unrivalled wealth of radar application engineering expertise.  This includes 5 world firsts in terms of operational deployment of millimetre wave radar technology :

  1. The first and only driverless straddle carrier operational port in the world at Fisherman’s Island, Brisbane,  Australia (Navtech Radar I200P used as the primary vehicle navigation sensor).

  2. The first ever quay crane anti-collision safety system using millimetre wave radar (3 systems installed and working on operational cranes at Bristol Port Authority)

  3. The world's first operational airport ground surface movement system using millimetre wave radar to receive CAA approval (East Midland's Airport, July 2006).

  4. The first known COTS 77GHz milimetre wave radar security system sales in the world (export sales made to US, Italy, Qatar and Poland in 2006, Ireland, UK including Heathrow in 2007).

  5. The first known 77GHz millimetre wave radar installation for motorway incident detection and hard shoulder monitoring, delpoyed on the M42 and M4 motorways for the UK Highways Agency, April 2007.
