Radar is an
ideal sensor for ground surveillance. It will cover an expansive
area and is unaffected by rain, fog or dusty conditions. Unlike
many other technologies, the radar will detect an intruder at any
range within the view of the radar and also report their exact position.

range to 900m.
Area
covered top to bottom 1.8 Km.

The radar is
at the centre of the concentric grid circles. Both sides of a road
can be clearly seen due North of the radar at about 500m. The tree-lines
visible in the photo can also be clearly seen.
When used with the Navtech user interface, a complete visual image
of the surrounding environment can be built up. Personnel, and other
small radar cross-sectional objects, can be easily picked out on
the display.
